Reaction Scheme

The following instructions target users who are unfamiliar with OpenChemLib chemical editor. Feel free to check the Help Top right 4th Key in the editor first for detailed explanations.

For those who just need a Copy & Paste:
5th Key then 2nd Key (left: reactant; right: product): across different entries.
6th Key: within the same editor
Or use the Lasso Pointer Tool Left 5th Key to select the target molecule, hold 'Shift' and drag the molecule to create a copy

Left 4th KeyZoom and Rotate Tool
Left 5th KeyLasso Pointer ToolUse by:
1. Dragging the cursor around atoms of choice;
2. Double clicking any atom or bond in a molecule;
3. pressing and holding 'alt' for retangle selection;

Single selection within one molecule is also allowed. Selected atoms or fragment can be dragged and moved across the editor. Reactants are labeled with alphabets and placed on the left of the reaction arrow; products are labeled with 'P1', 'P2' etc. and placed on the right side.

To unselect click any empty area in the editor

To create a copy select the target molecule, then drag the selected fragment while pressing and holding 'Shift'.

Coordinate covalent bond It can be useful to denote special bond types between metals and ligands in metal complexes. Our editor can handle that.

The chemical structure editor (OpenChemLib) allows drawing coordinative covalent bonds. In order to draw a 'zero order' bond you need to first draw a single bond between an atom and a metal. With the single bond drawing tool selected you can then click on the bond a couple of times in order to get the dotted bond.
